About Hot Gupshup
The conversation, explained
Last updated August 13, 2026
Hot Gupshup publishes film & screen, music, television for readers who want the working version rather than the promotional one.
Our house style is enthusiastic, analytical, never gossipy. We would rather publish one piece that holds up than five that fill a schedule.
What we cover
The site is organised into 6 sections:
- Film & Screen — What films are doing and how they do it, beyond whether you liked them.
- Music — Records, production and the way a sound spreads from one room outward.
- Television — Series, seasons, and the structural reasons shows work or fall apart.
- How It Is Made — Editing, sound, lighting, casting — the invisible work you are reacting to.
- Fandom — How audiences organise, argue and keep things alive long after release.
- The Business — Money, streaming, distribution and why what gets made is what gets made.
Who writes it
Every article carries a named writer with a profile page, and nothing is published anonymously. You can see the full list on our writers page.
How it is funded
Advertising pays for this site. It does not buy coverage, placement or a favourable word, and our editorial policy sets out exactly how that separation works.
Who publishes it
Hot Gupshup is published by Backrow Publishing, a sole proprietorship of Sneha Kulkarni.
